1. What is the difference between IE3 and IE5?

In June 2021, the Chinese national standard GB18613-2020 "Energy Efficiency Limits and Energy Efficiency Grades for Electric Motors" (new national standard) was officially implemented, listing the international standard IE5 efficiency as the highest level one energy efficiency index for three-phase asynchronous motors in China, and IE3 efficiency as the level three energy efficiency.
